Today, children are less active and less healthy than ever before. To combat the increase in childhood obesity and lack of physical activity for disadvantaged youth, Good Sports provides sports and fitness equipment to get young people back in the game. After-school sports and fitness programs are not nearly as accessible to youth in high poverty areas as to the rest of the youth population. Often the costs of the programs and equipment make them out of reach for disadvantaged youth. By providing equipment to these programs, this enables these organizations to subsidize more youth, waive fees, and expand the number of children they can serve.
Currently Good Sports is only able to support 30% of the requests for equipment we receive based on the resources we have available. Now, more than ever, it is important to support these programs and the kids they serve. Despite economic conditions, we can all pitch in to help ensure these youth have access to sports and fitness activities. This support enables us to direct resources to those areas where we have the greatest need helping to serve young people we might not otherwise be able to reach. Thank you for helping us get everyone in the game!
Good Sports is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and donations are tax deductible within the guidelines of the Internal Revenue Service.
