Good Sports Portfolio Model

Portfolio Opportunity

All interested programs and schools must have a currently approved application in order to be considered for the Portfolio Model. Organizations and schools that are accepted into our Portfolio will be supported by Good Sports to meet their top equipment needs that directly impact physical activity programming over the course of a five-year partnership. This partnership is designed to help programs build a sustainability plan that continues beyond Good Sports’ five-year commitment.  This deeper connection to organizations, and commitment to getting them the most-needed equipment to increase physical activity, will result in more predictable and impactful donations and allow Good Sports to measure and share that impact more effectively.

Good Sports is focused on enabling equitable access to sport through:
  • Serving girls – Good Sports is working toward a goal of supporting male and female youth equally within 5 years.
  • Serving Black, Indigenous, Hispanic or Latino, and other children of color in communities that have been historically marginalized.
  • Serving rural populations.
Good Sports is NOT able to donate to the following:
  • Short-term events such as sports camps, running/walking events, and tournaments.
  • Individual athletes.
All organizations/schools that are accepted into the portfolio will:
  • Receive seasonal equipment donations that meet their top needs that directly increase physical activity programming for a five-year period.
  • Gain expanded access to our catalog of available inventory.
All organizations/schools that are accepted into the portfolio will be required:
  • Pay an annual administration fee scalable by the number of kids served. Fees range from $150 – $3,000. This fee will replace the per-donation 5% shipping and handling fee.
  • Sign a release form to be eligible to receive equipment donations.
  • Submit an evaluation after every equipment donation.
  • Submit an annual impact report.
  • Commit to publicizing Good Sports’ support. Suggested options include:
    • Posting to social media.
    • Sending pictures of youth using equipment.
    • Newspaper articles.

What is the difference between our two program models?

We understand that not all organizations’ needs are the same. Good Sports’  two models of support offer flexibility to gain the support your organization needs.  The chart below highlights the differences between the two models.
